1Sa 22:9-16 Doeg Accuses Ahimelech.

9. Doeg was in charge of Saul's servants.

10. He asked Ahimelech if he had consulted God on David's behalf. Some think this might have been a lie told by Doeg to win favor with the king, but it seems Ahimelech genuinely believed it was true. The high priest was unaware of the bitter feud between Saul and David, and he didn't know about the clever way David had obtained his help. As a result, when Doeg accused him, Ahimelech and the entire priesthood were implicated in conspiracy (1Sa 22:16-17).
