Jos 23:3 By Former Benefits.

By Former Benefits.

Joshua humbly acknowledges God's role in their conquest of Canaan, giving credit to the Lord for all that has been accomplished. This is a truthful and pious acknowledgment, as it was promised (Deuteronomy 1:30; 3:22) that God would be with them and aid them in this endeavor. The swift defeat of the Canaanites, which has already led to the division of the land among their tribes (Joshua 23:4), is a clear demonstration of God's presence and power.
