Women who had been healed by Jesus accompanied him on this tour as he traveled throughout every city and village, preaching the message of the kingdom.
2 Certain women who had been healed by Jesus were drawn to him because of his power over evil spirits and his ability to heal their physical infirmities. They ministered to him from their own resources, providing for his needs. This was a remarkable display of devotion, as they gave generously to support the one who had given them new life.
Mary Magdalene, likely from Magdala, had been freed from seven demons. It's essential to distinguish her from another woman in Luke 7:37, who was also known as Mary Magdalene but had a different background. The mistake has arisen from conflating demoniacal possession with conscious sinfulness.
3 Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, joined Jesus' entourage after being healed by him. While it's unlikely that her husband was a disciple of Christ, his wife was deeply devoted to Jesus and provided for his needs. We know little about Susanna, but her act of ministering to Jesus from her own resources has become an enduring testament to her faith.
Many other women who had been healed by Jesus also accompanied him on this tour, providing for his needs from their own resources. This remarkable display of generosity was a reflection of the depth of their gratitude and devotion to Jesus.
