Ge 18:16-22 Disclosure of Sodom's Doom.

The men rose up to leave, and Abraham accompanied them a short distance.

17 The Lord said, "Shall I hide from Abraham what is about to happen to Sodom and Gomorrah?" It was the chief stranger, none other than God himself, who revealed to Abraham the devastating judgment that would soon befall these cities for their extreme wickedness.

21 The Lord declared, "I will go down to see for myself" - a phrase used in human-like language. These cities were intended as examples for all future generations of God's severity; therefore, ample evidence was given that the judgment was neither hasty nor excessive.
