Nations Left to Prove Israel.

The Lord left these nations in place for a specific purpose: to test and discipline Israel. This was a deliberate design of God's theocracy over Israel. The presence of these nations served two purposes: first, their incursions into Israelite territory would challenge the people morally and spiritually; second, they would provide an opportunity for the young Israelites, who were unfamiliar with war, to learn about combat and self-defense.
