An Angel Appears to Manoah's Wife.
2. Zorah was a town in Dan, situated near the border of Judah and Dan (Joshua 15:33). This location made it close to the Philistine territory.
3. The angel of the Lord appeared to her. This divine messenger had made similar appearances before, as described earlier.
5. She would conceive and give birth to a son who was destined for a special role. As a Nazarite, this child would require his mother to follow the strict rules of abstinence outlined in Numbers 6:2.
This child would begin to deliver Israel from the Philistines' control. Although this prophecy offered encouragement to Manoah as a patriotic man, it also indicated that liberation was still far off.
6-8. When Manoah's wife shared the news with him, he prayed earnestly to God about this development. This prayerful response demonstrated the connection between prayer and the fulfillment of God's promises.
