Ezr 10:18-44 Those That Had Taken Strange Wives.

Among the sons of the priests, we see the complexity and difficulty of Ezra's reformatory work. The list of men from prominent families gives us a glimpse into the magnitude of this challenge.

The priests who had taken foreign wives made a solemn commitment to follow the same path as the rest of the Israelites (Ezr 10:25). They pledged their right hands, a gesture that sealed their agreement and was often accompanied by a sacrifice. In this case, they offered a ram as a trespass offering to atone for their sin.
