The Most Holy House: Dimensions and Features.
8 The Most Holy House was a perfect cube (compare 1 Kings 6:20), with its interior space entirely enclosed by walls of equal length, width, and height.
It was overlaid with gold, an enormous amount equivalent to six hundred talents. At the standard rate of £4 per ounce, this translates to approximately £3,600,000.
10-13 The two cherubim in the Most Holy House were massive figures made from olive wood, covered in a layer of gold. They were designed to be imposing, similar to the colossal sculptures found in Assyrian art. Each figure spanned ten cubits in height and length, with their wings spread wide enough to cover this space. Two of the cherub's wings touched each other, while the other two reached out towards the opposite walls. Their faces were positioned inward, facing the Most Holy House itself, as they were intended to conceal the ark from view.
