6. When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, her imagination and feelings were completely won over. The fall of Eve quickly followed by Adam's, illustrating a pattern seen in every temptation and sin: an outward object of attraction, inward turmoil of mind, increasing passionate desire, and ultimately, the degradation and ruin of the soul (James 1:15; 1 John 2:16).

8. They heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden, speaking with familiar tones of kindness, just as He had before. His presence was visible, yet not hurried or driven by anger. The phrase "in the cool of the day" (literally, "the breeze of the day") describes the evening hour.

They hid themselves amongst the trees of the garden, overcome by shame, remorse, and fear – feelings they had never experienced before. Their minds were disordered by guilt, leading them to avoid Him whom they once welcomed with open hearts. It's ironic that they thought they could evade His notice (Psalm 139:1-12).
