I command you in the presence of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ who is to judge the living and the dead, that you preach the word, not being swayed by season or occasion but being urgent always, reproving, rebuking, exhorting with all patience and instruction.

For a time will come when people will no longer endure sound teaching but instead will heap up teachers to their own liking and for itching ears. They will turn away from the truth and be drawn to empty stories.

But you must remain steadfast in all circumstances, enduring hardships as an evangelist, demonstrating your full ministry by fulfilling every task assigned to you. I am ready to be poured out, and my departure is near. I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course; I have kept the faith.

There awaits for me a crown of righteousness that will be given to me on that day by the Lord, the righteous judge. It's not just for me but also for all who eagerly await his appearing. Be diligent to come to me soon.

Demas has abandoned me because he was drawn away by his love for this world and went to Thessalonica. Crescens is in Galatia, while Titus is in Dalmatia. Only Luke remains with me, but take Mark along because he's useful to me in my ministry. I've sent Tychicus to Ephesus.

When you come, bring the cloak I left at Troas with Carpus and some books, especially those on parchment. Be cautious of Alexander the coppersmith, for he did me great harm; pray that the Lord will repay him according to his deeds. He strongly opposed our message, so beware of him.

At my first defense, no one stood by me, and all deserted me. Pray that it won't be held against them. But I'm grateful that the Lord stood with me, strengthening me. He'll rescue me from every evil deed and preserve me for his heavenly kingdom, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Greet Prisca and Aquila, as well as the household of Onesiphorus. Erastus remained in Corinth, but I left Trophimus at Miletum because he was sick. Come before winter; greet Eubulus, Pudens, Linus, Claudia, and all the brethren with them.

May the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. May his grace be with you, Amen.
