The Lord said to Moses, "Take Aaron and his sons with him, along with the garments, the anointing oil, a bull for the sin offering, two rams, and a basket of unleavened bread. Gather all the congregation together at the entrance of the tabernacle of assembly. Moses carried out the instructions of the Lord, and the entire community gathered at the entrance to the tabernacle.
Moses said to the people, "This is what the Lord has commanded to be done." He brought Aaron and his sons and washed them with water. Then he put on Aaron a coat, girded him with a sash, clothed him in a robe, placed an ephod upon him, fastened it securely around his waist, and put the breastplate on him with the Urim and Thummim inside.
Next, Moses placed a mitre on Aaron's head, setting on it the golden plate of the holy crown, just as the Lord had commanded. He took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and everything in it, dedicating them for sacred use. Then he sprinkled some of the oil seven times on the altar, anointing it, its vessels, the laver, and its base to make them holy.
Moses poured the anointing oil on Aaron's head to set him apart for a holy priesthood. He brought Aaron's sons, put coats on them, girded them with sashes, and placed caps on their heads as the Lord had commanded. Then Moses took a bull for the sin offering and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.
Moses slaughtered it, applied some of its blood to the horns of the altar all around, purifying the altar by pouring out the blood at its base and consecrating it for reconciliation. He burned the fat that was on the inwards, the caul above the liver, the two kidneys, and their fat as a sin offering.
The bull, along with its hide and dung, was burned outside the camp just as the Lord had commanded. Aaron and his sons then laid hands on the head of one ram for the burnt offering, and Moses sprinkled its blood around on the altar.
Moses cut up the ram, burned its head, pieces, and fat, washing the inwards and legs with water, and burning the whole ram as a burnt offering to the Lord. He did the same thing with another ram, which was for consecration: Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head, and Moses applied some of its blood to Aaron's right ear, thumb, and big toe.
Moses put more blood on Aaron's right ear, thumb, and big toe, then took some fat and placed it along with the rump, inwards, caul above the liver, two kidneys, and their fat, as well as the right shoulder. From a basket of unleavened bread before the Lord, he took one unleavened cake, a cake of oiled bread, and one wafer, placing them on the fat and right shoulder.
He put all these things on Aaron's hands and those of his sons, waving them as a wave offering before the Lord. Moses then took them off their hands and burned them with the burnt offering, making a sweet fragrance to the Lord.
Moses took the breast from the ram of consecration, waved it before the Lord as a wave offering, and gave it to Aaron as his portion just as the Lord had commanded. He also took some anointing oil and blood on the altar, sprinkling them upon Aaron, his garments, and those of his sons with him.
Moses instructed Aaron and his sons to boil the flesh at the tabernacle entrance, where they would eat it with bread from a consecration basket as he had commanded. Anything left over was to be burned in fire. For seven days, they were not to leave the door of the tabernacle until their period of consecration had been completed.
The Lord had commanded Aaron and his sons to make atonement for them through these rituals. So they remained at the entrance of the tabernacle day and night for seven days, keeping watch over the Lord's charge as He had instructed. And Aaron and his sons carried out all the commands given by the hand of Moses.
