The Kings Combine against Israel.

1. All the kings on this side of Jordan - that is, in the western part of the country - from the hill regions to the lowlands and along the entire coastline of the Great Sea heard about the destruction of Jericho and Ai, as well as Israel's rapid advance into Canaan (see Numbers 13:29 for more information on these tribes).

2. These kings joined forces to fight against Joshua and Israel with a unified purpose - setting aside their own rivalries and conflicts in order to prevent the land from falling under foreign control.
